We’ll Make Things Right, We’ll Feel it All, Tonight/ Tonight*
Except do you remember what happened when Angela Chase finally got Jordan Catalano to date her?
All day on the 4th of July, I had his attention from afar and then, well…then I started this blog. He was/ is in Nashville for the holiday, and I was out in New Jersey spending the day with my ex and his brother (we’ll get to that). Texting to and fro, about our activities, how carefree we were during those 7-9 hours. How hard I tried to seem interesting! I thought this would culminate in a phone call. I knew we were both getting drunk and when I get drunk I want to call the person who makes toy boats sail in my panties.** The feeling apparently is not universal.
After I super-sexily (feebly) asked him if the fireworks were “good for him” he replied immediately with “ … so good “
Ooh. Was that sexual? I’m sure deliberately putting spaces into your text can’t be somehow NOT a good thing, right? Let me try to not fuck this up by replying with something super tawdry and desperate:

Oh, ok perfect. So just the MOST RETARDED THING EVER. Leave me a message? Also, pick up my dry cleaning. What the fuck? An hour went by and nothing, of course. So I decided, with the help of what must have been 4 American beers, to “fix it.”

Suave. I am like a glossy new hybrid car quietly driving away from hitting a dog.
Good thing when I drink I get super cool and opaque and no one can tell that I am a raving lunatic.
It has been two days and I have not heard from him, except to confirm that he was making a facebook invite for a show we are doing. My response was an icy reply-all. Did I fail to mention that we are in an improv team together? Yeah, I’m kinda the best.
*Reading the Wikipedia entry for Tonight, Tonight by the Smashing Pumpkins, the song where the title of this post comes from will reveal many things, among them that “The lyrics of the song have been called a “story of urgency and longing” and were compared to Robert Herrick’s poem “To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time.”[9] I also felt that it was appropriate because in the video there are old-timey soldiers and stuff which is very July 4th.
**This turn of phrase was lifted from here. Credit where credit, also I loved A.J.’s posts to the max.
